NYC Laser Hair Removal

About NYC Laser Hair Removal

What can I expect with laser hair removal?

Laser is dangerous on tan skin so I usually do laser from October to June unless the area is never exposed to the sun (i.e. underarms, bum or Brazilian). You will shave the treatment area the night before your appointment and arrive with clean, hydrated skin. During the treatment you will experience a quick snapping sensation during and after, some redness and/or swelling. The redness and swelling usually abate after 30 minutes. I can put aloe or hydrocortisone on your skin to speed up healing. If you are concerned about discomfort, take a pain reliever 30 minutes before your appointment. Avoid hair removal just before and during your period!

How effective is the laser at removing hair?

Laser hair removal is not a perfect science so results vary from person to person and body part to body part. Generally, one can expect a 60 to 80 percent reduction after 6 to 9 treatments. For a man’s shoulders, back or chest, and anyone’s groin hair removal, more treatments will be required to reduce the hair because it’s a hormonal area. The hair that does grow back is likely to be thinner and lighter color and more sparse. There are chronic disorders that cause hair growth, so for those clients, maintenance sessions will be necessary. For stubborn hairs that do not respond to laser, electrolysis is the ideal option. Fortunately, Beauty & the Beas is your one-stop-shop for both electrolysis and laser hair removal.

What areas can you treat?

Chest, bum, arms, back, bikini line, thighs, shoulders, you name it! I cannot laser the hair on your scalp, in your nose or ear canal and any hair growing in mucous membranes.

May I have laser hair removal if I have a medical condition?

Laser hair removal is safe for most people. However, there are some medical conditions that are contraindicated. Before the treatment we will discuss your health and medical history in detail to ensure that laser hair removal is right for you.

Does laser hair removal work on all skin tones?

Yes, technology has improved since the 1990’s so all skin tones can be treated safely with my equipment. There is no laser that can treat blonde, white, red or gray hair. And my laser can treat all skin tones. If you have had a negative experience with another laser hair removal provider, give me a chance. My equipment is state-of-the-art and my training is top-notch. A successful laser treatment is 50% equipment and 50% provider. I trained for a year which is 360 days longer than most NYC providers and the Lumenis Splendor X is a fantastic, effective laser.

Do you sell laser treatment packages?

Yes, packages are more economical. Ask Laura about package pricing.
